Will talks be video recorded and archived online?
Yes, if the presenters permit, the talks will be posted
online after the event.
How do I become a member of the Ancestral Health Society?
All attendees of AHS11 are members of the Ancestral Health
Society. Details about future memberships are coming soon.
What's the address where AHS2012 is being held?
AHS2012 will take place at Harvard Law School's Wasserstein
Hall the corner of Massachusetts Avenue (locally, "Mass Ave")
and Everett Street. The complex known as "WCC" is
comprised of Wasserstein Hall, the Casperson Student
Center and the Clinical Wing.
When is the deadline for proposals?
The deadline was December 15, 2011.
Registration
Can I register for one day of the conference instead of all 3 days?
Only the full 3-day conference registration is available.
Are one-day tickets available?
Tickets are only available for three-day admission.
Do I have to register through eventbrite if I am a
...student ...volunteer ...presenter ...speaker ...exhibitor?
Every attendee is expected to register via eventbrite links provided: all students, volunteers, presenters, speakers and exhibitors.
What are "Volunteer Tickets"?
Discounted or complementary tickets are available for a limited number of attendees volunteering a minimum of 15 hours of their time at AHS2012.
What are "Student Tickets"?
We are pleased to offer a limited number of specially priced tickets available to full-time students who are able provide an official Proof of Enrollment from their school's Registrar.
Tickets sold out! Can you add me to the waitlist?
We will not be maintaining a waitlist.
Tickets sold out before I could get one even though I attended AHS last year, am a member of AHS and had an early registration link. Doesn't this guarantee me a ticket?
No. While we would like to accomodate everyone, total conference registrations are limited by building capacity and by the number of tickets purchased before you attempted to purchase your ticket.
Will you release more for tickets sale?
Notifications of newly available tickets (due to cancellations) will be made via AHS facebook page, typically on the first of April, May, June and July. To receive the most timely updates, be sure to “like” the AHS facebook page and check that you are set to receive mobile notifications from our facebook page.
I can't make it to AHS afterall. Can I get a refund? Can I transfer my ticket?
•Refunds will be processed once per month on the last day of the month only. For example, if you cancel your registration on June 2nd, you will be issued a 50% refund June 30.
•Cancellations received via email by May 30, 2012 will be issued a full refund.
•Cancellations received via email by June 30, 2012 will be issued a 50% refund.
•NO REFUNDS will be issued after June 30, 2012.
•After June 30 has passed, please notify us so that we have an accurate count for food service vendors. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund registrations cancelled after June 30, 2012.
•Transfers proved to be exceptionally time consuming. At this point, regretfully, ticket transfers are not an option.
•If your cancellation request meets all of the above criteria and you wish to request a refund, email registration@ancestryfoundation.org. Please use "Cancellation/Refund AHS 2012" in the subject line. In the body of the email, please provide the full name used during registration, along with the email address associated with the Paypal account used for purchase.
Hotel and Travel
How do I get the AHS2012 rate at the Charles Hotel?
Detailed information will be posted once registration is underway. Basically, you'll book online with a code and will secure the room with your credit card.
What if I have to cancel my hotel reservation at the Charles Hotel?
Cancellations of hotel reservations forty-eight hours (or more) in advance of your stay incurr no charges to your card. If the reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of the start of your reservation, one night's room and tax charges will be billed to your credit card. If the reservation is not cancelled but you fail to check-in, the room will be released and your card will be charged one night's room and tax. Please contact the Charles Hotel directly regarding room changes or cancellations.
Parking
Parking is extremely limited in Cambridge and always mind-bogglingly expensive.
•Charles Hotel parking is a minimum of $34 per day and may be more depending check-in and departure times. Read carefully.
•Street parking or public lots may be available.

...to the Charles Hotel?
Public transport: take the the "T" from Logan to Cambridge, then walk a short distance to the Charles Hotel. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Association (MBTA) has a great trip planner tool on their website. For a cab or shuttle, check ground transportation at Logan. Driving directions can be found at the Charles Hotel's website.

Where can I pick up my badge?
For your convenience, you may pick up your badge and check-in for the conference at either The Charles Hotel or Wasserstein. Please see the schedule to the right for times and locations.
How do I get from the The Charles Hotel to Wasserstein?
Wasserstein Hall is located at the corner of Everett Street and Mass Ave.

Will childcare be offered at the event?
No, childcare will not be offered at the event. However, your children and care provider are welcome to visit during breaks. Quiet, nursing, in-arms babies are welcome in session rooms as long as you respond immediately to any sounds your baby makes, even happy baby noises, so as to minimize disruption to both the filming of presenters and other's concentration.
Will there be access for disabled persons?
Yes.
What food options are available on the Harvard campus?
Is wireless internet available at Wasserstein?
Is there parking at Wasserstein?
There is no public parking at Wasserstein. Parking in Cambridge is extremely limited and expensive. The map below shows public parking decks (blue). Metered street parking is also available. Ticketing is heavily enforced.
